Inauguration of Optometry Courses – 2022 batch
Read MoreInauguration of B.Optom and M.Optom courses of 2022 batch was held at Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Institute of Optometry, Pammal Chennai on 5th October, the auspicious day of Vijayadasami.
Principal of the College Sri S Gopala Krishnan welcomed the gathering. Trustee & Executive Director of the Hospital Wg cdr Shankar stressed on the importance of thorough learning. Senior Consultant & Cornea Specialist of the Hospital Dr P R Balamurugan inaugurated the courses. In his inaugural address, he said how Optometrist play an important role in various departments at hospital, handle all diagnostic equipment and help in the diagnosis of problems in the eye.
Director Projects of the Hospital Air Cmde Eshwar Subramanian, Faculties & staff of the College & Hospital and students & parents participated.
Saraswati Pooja was conducted on the same day.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks and National Anthem.
The students & patents were taken to Hospital tour.

Ayudha Pooja 2022 @ Pammal Sankara
Read MoreEvery year Ayudha Pooja was celebrated in a grand manner.
This year too, the Pooja was conducted on 4th October at 2.30pm. Trustees Wg Cdr V Shankar & Sri Mangal Chand, Director Projects Air Cmde Eshwar Subramanian, CEO of B P Jain Hospital Smt P Vijayalekshmi and all the doctors & staff participated in this event.
A gift article along with sweets were distributed to all the doctors & staff of the Hospital.

Independence Day

Today was a memorable day for Sankara Eye Hospital, Pammal. The 76th Independence Day, was celebrated with enthusiasm. Our Trustee & Executive Director Wg Cdr V Shankar (Retd.) hoisted the National Flag at 8.45 am at our Hospital premises and National Anthem was sung. Sweets were distributed. Doctors, staff & well-wishers participated in the function.

Inauguration of 40-seater bus
Read MoreLarsen & Toubro has donated one 40 seater bus and 20 lens meter at the cost of Rs.40 lakhs.
An Inaugural function was organised on 1st August at the Hospital premises. After a small pooja, the key was handed over by Sri Vinod Jacob Chacko, Vice President & Head- Corporate Communications & Social Responsibility, L & T and the same was received by our Trustee & Executive Director Wg Cdr V Shankar (Retd.).
Sri Chacko and our Dr Nirupama flagged off the bus in the presence of Sri R Rajasekarapandy, Deputy General Manager – CSR, L & T, our DGM Sri M Muthukumar and our cornea specialist Dr.P.R.Balamurugan.
The bus will be used for the transportation of patients from outreach camps.v

World Doctors Day 2022
Read MoreOn the day one of Rotary & Lionistic year 2022-23, Rotary Club of Madras Fort, RID 3232 and Lions Club of Chitlapakkam, LCI District 324-A6 has celebrated World Doctors Day at Sankara Eye Hospital. All the doctors were recognized with a memento. The members of both the clubs jointly participated.
The function starts at 4.00 pm. The Dy General Manager of the Hospital Sri M Muthukumar welcomed the gathering. Past President Rtn R.K. Duraiswamy and Second Vice District Governor Lion A.T. Ravichandran gave their special address on the services rendered by the Doctors. Our Medical Director Dr Surendranatha Reddy felicitated the services of all doctors who are not only in service but also left out. All the Consultants, Fellows & DNBs were honoured by the members of both the Clubs. Finally, Vote of Thanks rendered by Chief Optometrist Sri V Kalyanakumar.
