- Eyes of the deceased of any age can be donated whether he / she has pledged his / her eyes or not. For Eye donation, call the nearest EYE BANK.
- Spectacle wearers, diabetics, hypertensives and people suffering from systemic diseases like asthma and tuberculosis also can donate eyes. Patients who have undergone cataract surgery also can donate eyes.
- All religions endorse the practice of EYE DONATION.
- EYES HAVE TO BE REMOVED WITHIN 6 HRS OF DEATH. LOSE NO TIME IN INFORMING THE NEAREST EYE BANK.
- Fill the pledge form available in eye banks informing your intention of donating your eyes.
- We will send you the donor card. PRESERVE THIS CARD CAREFULLY.
- Discuss your intention of Eye donation with your family doctor and relatives.
- Declare your intention to donate your eyes in your will
- If you shift to a new house, record the address, Telephone number of the new Eye bank nearest to your home.
- Get the vital death certificate quickly & CALL THE NEAREST EYE BANK for Eye collection.
- SWITCH OFF FANS and place wet cotton/cloth over closed Eyelids, to keep Eyeballs moist.
- Please note that a blood sample is collected from donor to check for AIDS, HEPATITIS, etc.,
