At Sankara Cornea harvesting is carried out round the clock. A team is always on stand-by which includes a dedicated vehicle, a sterile kit, a Doctor and a Paramedical Assistant. A standard protocol has been drawn up detailing the actions to be taken when an eye call is received and actions to be taken upon return to the Hospital.

The Eye Bank team informs the availability of the Cornea to the Surgeon and the Counselling department who will schedule the surgery after contacting the patients on the waiting list for Corneas.
