DR.Balamurugan.P.R. completed his basic medical training in 1994 and post graduation in ophthalmology from Manipal Academy of Higher Education. He was awarded the Gold Medal for the best outgoing student in MS ophthalmology from Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore, Manipal Academy of Higher Education in the year 1998. He did fellowship in Cataract and IOL microsurgery from K.G.hospital and Post Graduate Medical Institute, Coimbatore in 1999. He had passed the basic and clinical exam conducted by International Council of Ophthalmology(ICO) and also completed the Fellowship in Ophthalmology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (FRCS) in 2003. He was trained in cornea and external diseases by Dr.Srinivas K.Rao at Sankara eye Hospital, Pammal from 2010 and he further did Cornea observership program at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London, United Kingdom in 2013. He has published in international journals and presented in many conferences. He has vast experience in cataract and his training and years of experience has helped him in the precise diagnosis and treatment of various corneal and external eye diseases.
