Dr.Nirupama graduated with MBBS from Chengalpattu Medical College in 2003 as the BEST OUTGOING STUDENT of her batch. She was also awarded “Dr.R.E.S. Muthaiah Memorial Gold Medal” for excellence in Ophthalmology in 2003 by Dr.MGR Medical University. She did her Post-graduation in Ophthalmology from Madras Medical College, Govt. Ophthalmic Hospital in 2007, came out with flying colours. She has undergone intensive training in Phacoemulsification from Sankara Nethralaya in August 2007. She is a Fellow of International Council of Ophthalmologists (FICO). She has also obtained her FRCS (Glasgow) degree in 2012. After completing a rigorous cataract & general ophthalmology fellowship at Sankara Eye Hospital from 2010-12, she handles the UVEA department of our hospital.
